3 things to watch | 001.

August 27, 2016

My boyfriend and I started watching Preacher, which is available on Amazon Prime. I don't have an account because I'm a cheapskate but he does, score. He told me that it's all based on a comic book series which I think makes it even cooler. It follows a priest who ends up having something supernatural happen to him and from then on his words to people end up being very powerful. It's dark and funny, with lots of gory bits, and I highly recommend you give it a watch if you get the chance! I've still got episodes left to watch because I'm trying to savour it haha.

I found the movie What If while browsing the other night, and whilst I'm not the biggest fan of Daniel Radcliffe I do love Zoe Kazan. What a lovely little movie though! They basically meet at a party and end up being friends, even though she has a boyfriend. I'm sure you can see where the story goes. The soundtrack is pretty amazing, and I won't lie that I found myself thinking he was attractive during the movie, yeah...I caved to Harry Potter.

I saved this one for last as I'm sure literally everyone and their dog is talking about it, but Stranger Things...oh my. It didn't take me long to get through the 8 episodes on Netflix and I just hope there's another series. It's the perfect science fiction series, with a magical soundtrack and Winona Ryder, I mean come on...she's the best! A missing child, weird government lab and everything 1980's make this a must watch.

What shows/movies have you been loving lately?

Edinburgh vegan festival goodies.

August 26, 2016

Last Sunday my sister & I decided to pop along to the Edinburgh vegan festival in town. It was on both days over the weekend but we figured it might be slightly quieter on the Sunday. It took place in a lovely hotel and there were so many yummy food options! Also by the time we got there some things had been reduced so it was even better.

I came away with two mashed potato & haggis pies (I heated them up at home and had them with some gravy, oh my), a chocolate cupcake from Missy's vegan cupcakes, two marshmallow popsicles and a delicious salted caramel donut. At the venue we also got hot dogs and gelato, everything was just so damn good, I only wish it was on more than once a year haha.

Vegan cupcakes & the Dorco Eve 6.

August 18, 2016

The other weekend I made my first visit to the quarterly vegan market down in Leith. I believe the "normal" market is on there every Saturday, but once a month it features tons of vegan goodies, yay! I already knew that I'd be making a beeline for Missy's Cupcakes as I'd seen them featured all over instagram. Oh my god, they did not disappoint. I went for a blackforest gateau, banana split & spiced apple crumble. Every single one was amazing, I couldn't possibly pick a favourite! I also got a delicious houmous pitta wrap which I'm drooling at the thought of now...

Another thing I wanted to mention (I know, cupcakes to razors, strange transition) is this Dorco Eve 6 ladies razor (*) I was kindly sent. It came at perfect timing as I was in need of a new one and didn't know which cruelty free options I had in the general shops. I believe this brand is cruelty free, but correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, it's a wonderful little razor which glides perfectly even over those awkward areas. Unlike most razors it features a double 3-blade format. It's also got moisturising benefits as the little bands contain aloe, vitamin e & lavender. Plus it costs under £5!

Hope you're having a lovely day,

Blue & pink florals.

August 05, 2016

Jacket & shorts | H&M
Top | Topshop
Bag | eBay (old)

These photos are from a couple of weeks ago before I had a little hair chop chop. I'm so bad at forgetting to edit things, sorry! I picked up this sweet Topshop top on eBay recently for under £5. I fell in love with the complimentary pastel shades and floral patterns. It's perfect for the warmer months too as it's so sheer. Whilst I do think it would look good with a super girly skirt, I decided to darken it up slightly with my faux leather shorts. Also I'm still so obsessed with this tote bag I got from eBay absolute years ago (explains any slight grubbiness haha)!

Even the mention of the "e word" is making me want to go browse for some bargains, such a dangerous obsession! What do you think of this outfit? :)

A walk to Dean Village.

August 04, 2016

Last week my boyfriend and I ventured out on a sunny day with a pretty destination in mind - Dean Village. I'd always wanted to go for a walk through this area and it didn't disappoint. The buildings are stunning and there's so much variety of lovely flowers and trees. We walked through the Water of Leith to get there (and maybe did a bit of Pokemon hunting along the way, ha). Also met some swans who decided to hiss at us and cute little ducks. It was a perfect day weather wise, with it being warm but not overly sunny. For once I actually got nice weather on a day off!

We ended up walking a bit further after this and went through the outside area of the Edinburgh modern art gallery. There were a few things to see but we definitely need to go back some time when it's actually open.

Was lovely getting out and about with our cameras as we're always saying we don't do that enough :)

Blue stripes.

July 15, 2016

Top | Vintage
Jeans | Attitude
Shoes | Primark
Earrings | Forever 21

I've actually had these jeans since I was a teenager and luckily they still fit. I used to wear them all the time a few years ago and had forgotten all about them. Whilst going through a few bags of old clothes the other day they were rediscovered, yay! I love the high-waisted fit and prefer to wear them with the bottoms rolled up a little. I just had to pair them with these adorable cream Primark shoes but Converse would look equally as good.

The top was a find at a local vintage fair just over a year ago. Anything striped instantly gives me a French vibe, but I think that's just due to my obsession with French movies haha. As it's not always (ever) warm here in the evenings, it makes a perfect summer piece.

TheVeganKind | July box.

July 14, 2016

This month's VeganKind box arrived last week, and oh my was it a good one!

It's probably sad that as a 26 year old, I got most excited when I saw a little mini bag of my favourite vegan cola bottle sweeties. I buy these all the time in Tesco and look forward to trying their cherry ones. I've also now got an obsession with these soy & balsamic vinegar Snapea rice sticks. At first I wasn't sure but now I've been buying bags & bags of them haha. They really remind me of the salt & vinegar Chipstick crisps.

I don't like olives at all so those have been given to my dad. The can of ice tea is still in my fridge as I'd completely forgotten about it, but I am such a massive fan of everything tea so can't wait to try it!

The chocolate, coconut & oat slices are amazing! They taste like a mix between brownie & flapjack, mmm. Even just opening the packet I was in heaven with the smell. I love the cute little size of the raw chocolate bar, and it features goji berries, yummy. Lastly, there was a beautiful raspberry scented soy candle. It smells like creamy sweeties, and also included was a leaflet of all the other (I almost typed flavours) scents that they offer. I want every single one, but the jaffa cakes one is high up on my list!

Bonus rattie photo! What do you think of the items in this box?

Are you in a film or in reality?

Tshirt | Zara
Skirt | H&M

Ahh, who doesn't love a t-shirt with a slogan which conjures up deep thoughts? I picked this one up in Zara a few months ago, and I love the ringer style. I decided to pair it with this cute little aztec skirt from H&M, the red and berry shades seem to work well together. When I first wore this skirt I thought the zip was meant to be at the back, so ended up wearing it backwards for a whole evening, idiot haha. If anyone has any links to similar tees please send them my way :)

How has your week been so far? I've been addicted to the tv show Love on Netflix and can't stop watching it. I was a bit skeptic as I found Gillian Jacob's character in Community quite annoying but she's really good in this. The show has such a charm and is genuinely laugh out loud funny, as well as providing lots of serious and awkward moments. Have you seen it?

Vegan Zizzi's & new ratties.

June 24, 2016

Last week I really fancied a pizza delivery and then realised that Zizzi's has a vegan option - yasss! It was hard to decide what I wanted from all the toppings but in the end I went for spinach, mushrooms and peppers. It's weird, I used to hate mushrooms. A lot. But I love them now! The "cheese" was a bit runnier than I would have liked but overall it was a really delicious pizza.

If you follow me on instagram you'll know that recently I got three new baby rats. I actually went to pick up one (or two) and somehow fell in love with three, woops. So I'd like to properly introduce Winston, Schmidt and Nick. Hope there's some New Girl fans reading this, I just thought it was the perfect trio of names. They're all dumbo rex rats which means that they have ears on the side of their head instead of the top, and that their fur is curlier than normal rats. They're the sweetest little things ever! I just love when they're this tiny and still growing into their ears and their big back feet.

Orange lace.

June 23, 2016

Top | Primark
Jeans | Topshop
Boots | Primark

Why is there a Titanic style pose going on here? Who the hell knows, sorry haha. Quite a simplistic outfit but I love it nonetheless. I'm obsessed with this rusty-orange shade when paired with red lipstick, I just think it works so well. Also, that back detail - gorgeous!

May as well tell you a "fun" fact about these jeans. If you look really closely you'll see little holes on the bum area. Thanks ratties. That'll teach me to leave any clothes on my bed when I have them out. I'd be more annoyed if I hadn't gotten these Jamie jeans in the sale.

I'm off to meet my friend today (not wearing this outfit, it's from the other week and I had forgotten about it, shhh) and maybe go for a walk through the Botanic gardens, here's hoping the weather stays decent but I've probably tempted fate now. I've been told by my sister that there's not a lot of actual flowers there at the moment and that "it's all just green" hahaha. Just give me squirrels and I'll be happy.

Hope you're having a nice Thursday!
